Ice Storm 2009

It’s like an ice glaze was poured over everything. The top picture shows how each individual blade of grass was outlined in ice. The storm in Tulsa actually wasn’t too bad this year because the trees and the roads weren’t hit too hard. The kids were out of school for a week, though, mostly due to power issues.
The Price of an Afternoon of Peace
The weather was really quite nice (relatively speaking) this last Sunday, and the kids wanted to play outside. Bryan and I (who haven’t had any alone time for quite a while) were more than happy to send them on their merry way. We were amazed when we got through most of a movie without being interrupted with “he said, she said, he did, she did” kind of thing. A few moments after the movie finished I decided to see what kept the kids so quiet.
(The black stuff really is mud!)

Cody’s Nature Pictures
In the Beginning…
Our family is comprised of five individuals: Bryan, the hard-working Daddy, Connie, the multi-tasking Mommy, Cody, the lego-building little guy, and Anna, the ever-talking cutie. Our four-legged family member is Madison, a senior citizen as far as dogs go. We recently lost a betta fish named Nemo and about a year ago lost the other betta fish, Fishie.
We live in one of the larger cities of Oklahoma. Bryan was transplanted here about the age of ten from California. I came here about ten years ago from New Mexico, and our children are native Okies.
This being my first blog, I am quitting now while I feel like I accomplished something. My later blogs should be more fun. Here are some recent pictures of the family.

We went to Devil’s Den state park and camped around the area.
